Radio Sheffield interview with Sterndale Singers' Musical Director, Robert Webb, celebrating the legacy of Sir William Sterndale Bennett.
Welcome to Sterndale Singers

Anyone who has ever sung in a choir will know the pleasure it brings and Sterndale is no exception. We are an auditioned chamber choir of around 36 singers, and perform concerts in a variety of venues in and around Sheffield. Our repertoire ranges from unaccompanied renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and from time to time we work with local instrumental ensembles (see the previous performances page for further details). Our conductor, Robert Webb, has over 25 years’ experience directing choirs and his sense of musicianship and humour, means that rehearsals are fun as well as instructive.

We also have a resident vocal coach (David Watkin-Holmes) and every singer in Sterndale benefits from regular one-to-one coaching sessions.

The choir enjoys not only an excellent standard of music making but also the pleasure, excitement and friendship of singing in a choir.

We are always on the lookout for new members, so if you fancy joining us please contact the chairman Angela Rees:
